Low cost teeth cleaning and check up

When evaluating your oral health, you should always consider that prevention is key, and your current oral habits will determine the future of your teeth. So if you are looking to keep your teeth for life, make sure to include routine checkups in your oral hygiene routine.

Dentists can detect early signs of oral diseases and recommend preventive measures or, if necessary, prescribe a simpler and cheaper dental procedure than if they identified the condition much later. This is how visiting the dentist now will help you avoid expensive dental charges in the future.

Besides, professional dental teeth cleaning prevents the risk of developing oral health problems, such as tooth and root decay, gum disease, prevents bad breath and tooth loss and can even reduce the risk of developing conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. Hence the importance of dental checkups and deep teeth cleaning procedure.

At Dental 99, our mission is to offer high-quality dental care at affordable prices. For everyone. For this reason, the dentist checkup cost and dentist teeth cleaning cost is only $99. You can claim our treatments from your private health insurance policy, and we also have the option of paying for your dental check up in instalments using Afterpay.

Teeth cleaning process

Thanks to the Dental 99 mobile app, our dentists have access to your medical history and the records of your previous visits to our clinics. This information allows them to know your case and your needs in advance and thus provide personalised dental services.

If you are wondering what happens at the dentist, they will begin the checkup by examining each of your teeth and your mouth to detect any injured tooth, toothache, decay, plaque, tartar, cavities, or gum disease. They will also perform a physical exam to check your tongue, throat, face and neck. They rely on a digital X-ray, as a diagnostic tool, to examine below the surface and determine if there is an infection present and the condition of existing dental fillings, crowns, root canals or bridges. The X-ray is included in the $99 treatment price.

After the comprehensive assessment, they will start the dental cleaning procedure with what is known as scaling, where dentists remove plaque and tartar buildup on the teeth and around the gum line. Then, they will continue with the polishing to make the tooth surface smooth, which includes a deeper cleaning of the teeth and brushing the teeth with a high-powered electric brush to remove the remaining tartar and bacteria. And finally, they will use fluoride to protect your teeth against cavities and strengthen the surface of your teeth.

Is teeth cleaning necessary for your dental health?

Dental plaque is a sticky film that results from the combination of bacteria from the mouth with saliva, food particles and dead cells. When it accumulates, it causes tooth decay and can damage the surface of the tooth. If it is not removed, it will harden into tartar (also called calculus), which will form below and above the gum line. As it contains bacteria, it can irritate the gums and cause gingivitis (bleeding gums). If left untreated, it can result in gum disease (periodontitis), a much more severe condition that leads to the loss of the supporting bone around the teeth and loose teeth.

Holes or cavities can also develop and progress until they reach the nerve. If this happens, you would need a root canal or worse, tooth extraction and/or dental surgery.

Even with good dental care habits, you cannot completely eliminate tartar. Dentists have cleaning tools to remove it from difficult areas, such as between the teeth and below the gum line. For this reason, you should visit the dentist every six months for a regular dental checkup and professional dental cleaning.

Our work goes beyond the dental chair. At the end of the appointment, dentists will give you feedback on your dental health, will recommend the required oral habits, teeth care and preventive measures to avoid tooth decay. They will also inform you what to do after teeth cleaning, if there is any risk of developing an oral problem and discuss the dental plans and treatment needs. We will support you in your knowledge of preventive dental care and thus to promote good oral health and general health.
